January 2024: My paper An Aggregative Games Approach to Merger Analysis in Multiproduct-Firm Oligopoly (joint work with Nicolas Schutz) has been accepted for publication in the RAND Journal of Economics

January 2024: I will be giving the invited Lecture on Competition Policy and Regulation at the 58th annual meeting of the Canadian Economics Association, to be held from May 31 - June 1, 2024 in Toronto

December 2023: I have been elected to the Econometric Society's Standing Committee for "Europe and Other Areas" from January 2024

October 2023: I have been invited to give a keynote lecture at the 51st annual EARIE conference, to be held from August 30 - September 1, 2024 in Amsterdam

April 2023: My paper Consumer Search, Steering and Choice Overload (joint work with Patrick Rey) has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Political Economy

September 2022: I will be serving as the Program Chair for the 2023 European Winter Meeting of the Econometric Society (scheduled to take place from December 17 - 19, 2023 at the University of Manchester)

August 2022: My two-year term as head of Mannheim's Department of Economics has come to a close. I will be on sabbatical leave in the fall/winter.

April 2022: My paper Collective Brand Reputation (joint work with Roland Strausz) has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Political Economy

March 2022: My paper Concentration Thresholds for Horizontal Mergers (joint work with Michael D. Whinston) has been accepted for publication in the American Economic Review

December 2021: The Handbook of Industrial Organization, vol. 5, containing my chapter on Collusion, Mergers, and Related Antitrust Issues (co-author: John Asker) has appeared in print

November 2021: The German Research Foundation (DFG) has approved a second, four-year funding period (2022-2025) for the Collaborative Research Center Transregio 224 (CRC TR 224) "Economic Perspectives on Societal Challenges: Equality of Opportunity, Market Regulation, and Financial Stability", a cooperation of the Universities of Bonn and Mannheim. I am the designated head ("speaker") of the CRC from January 2022.

September 2021: I have been elected Fellow of the Econometric Society

September 2021: I have given the JJ Laffont Keynote Lecture at the 15th annual CRESSE conference (Crete)
